Actually the Ergotron stands make all the difference with this setup. . I can view all 6 screens without even moving my head left / right / up / down etc. . Now. . back when I had 5 monitors setup from left to right my head was on a swivel and I looked like a bobble head doll all day – in fact this was a major factor on why I went to 6 from 5 monitors. .
You must have been using an archaic piece of hardware then. If you’ve got recent hardware, and you still can’t install Linux, then the buck stops with you. It’s probably better that you stay safe and molly-coddled in Windows. You deserve each other. . lol!
No, not dragging.

just because your a newbie doesn’t mean Linux doest work well. . . . or even mean its not user friendly. i also doubt its market share is only 3% seeing as most servers out there run on Linux that includes DNS servers which makes up a large part of the back bone of the inter-webs. ps a large part of the MAC kernel is based on Linux so all MAC users out there are using a part of Linux. that is why Macs beat windows based systems hands down

I got a Insignia 1920×1080p ” LED panel through HDMI and a Envision 1680×1050 22″ LCD through VGA (the DVI input fried with a power surge from the cable-box). All hooked up to a Nvidia 9800 GTX+ inside a customized Linux box.
yer. multi monitors are one of those things that are just down to personal preference – some ppl find anything more than one to be a pain, then you get ppl at the other end of the scale that want as many as their desk will allow.
Also I like how the monitors help me split my apps up – makes it easy to push them fullscreen on a single monitor instead of constantly resizing windows to get them to fit on a large desktop like happens with higher resolution monitors. . I had the opportunity to move up to 6x 24″ ’s but I would be wasting a lot of space maximizing apps at that higher resolution. So I just keep getting better 20″ ’s. . keeping the resolution at 1680×1050 per monitor.
seriously a negative? I have a reason – its called Software development and datacenter management. . Monitor the entire datacenter in real time and use each monitor as a sep server, x4 with the virtual desktop.

Yup – studies have shown however when setup correctly and user friendly – productivity goes up 30 – 60% easily

two 30 inch displays can be very expensive if they’re monitors with ultra high res of around 2560×1600. often a few 22″ are the cheapest way to go.
